Color temperature (CCT) indicates the color of visible light emitted by the light source. It's an expression that rates and describes the color of a light source. When you heat a metal object, you see the object glows. When the object is heated, it changes to various colors such as orange, yellow and blue depending on its temperature. Color temperature is the Kelvin temperature of the black body, which captures a hue close to the light source.
Kelvin is an international unit that determines temperature, like the centigrade. Unlike Celsius degrees, the zero point is absolute zero – 273.15 ° Cal. With the following formula, it is possible to convert the temperature to degrees Celsius.

The unit of color temperature is Kelvin. Kelvin's symbol is "K". For example it's used like form, 3000 K, 4500 K, 6000 K

Warm Light (2500-3300 Kelvin)

Natural White Light (4000-4500 Kelvin)

Color temperature helps to make an ambiance and also improve to see your walls,furnitures and objects visible. Using the warm light in cold-color decorated places might affect the colors as pale and lifeless. On the contrary,using the cold light is not well on warm-color decorated places.
